The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by President Sharon Farris.  In attendance were Trustees Greg McHenry, Mary Taylor, Sue Punzelt, Ryan Fehrmann and Librarian Teresa Pennington.  Absent were Trustees Jerry Cockcroft, Mary Ann Tucker, Amy McGilvrey and Roxanne Michels.

Minutes of Previous Meeting:  MOTION:  McHenry, second Fehrmann to approve minutes with additional information under Librarian’s Announcements: money for condolence flowers was given by library staff and board members, and Charla Sanchez will work until February 2011.  Motion carried.

Finance Report:  MOTION:  McHenry, second Punzelt to approve report as read.  Motion carried.

Book Committee:  MOTION:  Fehrmann, second McHenry to approve 10 titles of nonfiction for purchase through the Lucy Bishop Fund.  Motion carried.

House Committee:  McHenry reported two emergency lights were replaced on December 8 after they failed to work during the November 13 power outage.

Librarian’s Report (Statistics):  MOTION:  Taylor, second McHenry to approve report as read.  Motion carried.

Friends of the Library:  Farris reported for McGilvrey that the Kids’ Christmas program held on December 2 was a success.

Old Business:
*Staff Appreciation:  No report as McGilvrey was absent.
*Pennington reported that the library will grant amnesty the whole month of January 2011 in an effort to get patrons to return overdue materials.

New Business:
*Trustee Jerry Cockcroft resigned.  Taylor will send him a personal note of thanks for his service on the board.
*Four library systems in southern Illinois (including Lincoln Trail Libraries System) are in a merger planning process.  LTLS Board of Directors distributed a dissolution resolution for LTLS to terminate on its merger date with the other three library systems in 2011 to form a new, larger system.
*Pennington distributed copies of a “wish list, plans and needs” document for our library for 2011.

Librarian’s Announcements:
*Christmas Holiday schedule:  library closed Christmas Eve day and Christmas Day, closing at 4 p.m. New Year’s Eve day, closed New Year’s Day.
*Shelby Norman will provide temporary help during her semester break.
