The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by President Sharon
Farris. In attendance were Trustees Greg McHenry, Mary Taylor, Roxanne Michels, Mary Ann Tucker, Ryan
Fehrmann, Aaron Rhoads, Amy McGilvrey, Sue Punzelt and Librarian Teresa Pennington.
Minutes of Previous Meeting: MOTION: Tucker, second McHenry to approve minutes. Motion carried.
Finance Report: MOTION: Michels, second McGilvrey to approve report. Motion carried.
Book Committee: The library purchased 17 fiction and seven nonfiction titles.
House Committee: The exterior of the building needs to be painted this year. Pennington will compose an
invitation to bid and submit it to board for approval, to be published in the Paris Beacon News and placed on
the library’s website.
Librarian’s Report (Statistics): MOTION: McHenry, second Michels to approve report. Motion carried.
Friends of the Library: The Friends will meet Monday April 16. Currently they are working on the
“Shakespeare in the Park” (May 26) and “Mark Twain” (this fall) events.
Old Business: MOTION: Taylor, second Tucker to accept the Long Range Plan 2012-2015, second draft.
New Business: Farris appointed Fehrmann and Michels to serve with Pennington on the Budget Committee,
and Punzelt and McGilvrey to compose the Nominating Committee.
*Pennington reported that the Big Read events with Mike Lunsford and Randy Turner were well attended and
attendees were pleased with the presentations. McGilvrey reported that the nine Paris High School students
who attended the Fahrenheit 451 discussion were very engaged.
*The Friends made $519.50 from the March 24 book sale and the library made $186 on the bag sale the
*On April 24 at 6:00 p.m. at the library local author Jeanette Levellie will talk about her new book Two Scoops
of Grace With Chuckles on Top. Copies will be available for purchase and signing.
*Due to theft, People magazine is now being kept behind the librarians’ desk.
*On April 19 at 6:00 p.m. at the library Chuck Hand will present “You are there: Lincoln’s assassination.”
