The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by President Sharon Farris. In attendance were Trustees Greg McHenry, Mary Taylor, Roxanne Michels, Mary Ann Tucker, Ryan Fehrmann, Aaron Rhoads, and Librarian Teresa Pennington. Not present: Trustees Amy McGilvrey, Susan Punzelt.
Minutes of Previous Meeting: MOTION: McHenry, second Tucker to approve minutes. Motion carried.
Finance Report: MOTION: Tucker, second McHenry to transfer money if necessary from the Schwartz Fund to the General Fund to apply to salaries for the rest of the fiscal year. Motion carried. MOTION: Michels, second Fehrmann to approve report. Motion carried.
Book Committee: The library purchased 36 fiction and three nonfiction titles.
House Committee: McHenry reported that Tri-C Plastering, Inc. will begin plaster work in August. Art Reese Lumber Co. repaired two downspouts for $204.
Librarian’s Report (Statistics): MOTION: McHenry, second Michels to approve report. Motion carried.
Friends of the Library: The Friends will set up on March 19 for the March 24 Book Sale.
*Pennington passed out a second draft of Long Range Plan 2012-2015. The plan will be discussed at the April board meeting.
*Eastern Illinois University’s Booth Library asked us to participate in and write a letter of support for a potential traveling film/music genre series in various libraries in east central Illinois.
*Mike Lunsford will speak at the library on March 15 at 6:00 p.m. as part of The Big Read. The Fahrenheit 451 discussion will be on March 17 at 2:00 p.m. Randy Turner, owner of Larkfield Glass, will discuss glassblowing on April 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the library.
*Book Sale is March 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
*Due to vandalism, beginning February 20, restrooms are locked.
*The new microfilm scanner is set up in the reference room.
