The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by President Greg McHenry.  In attendance were Mary Taylor, George Griffin, Aaron Rhoads, Ryan Fehrmann, Sharon Farris, Susan Punzelt, Amy McGilvrey and Librarian Teresa Pennington.  Absent was Trustee Roxanne Michels.

Minutes of Previous Meeting:  Minutes were approved as read.

Finance Report:  MOTION:  Griffin, second Farris to approve report, to recognize October 2013 checks and deposits, and to authorize the purchase of 21 adult fiction, three adult nonfiction, 19 children’s fiction, four children’s non-fiction and three young adult titles from Baker & Taylor.  Motion carried.
*Pennington reported that the library continues to use Unique Management System, a collection agency module available in SHARE, to retrieve overdue materials and fines, and that materials are being returned.

Book Committee:  No report.

House Committee:  Repairs were made to the north entry.  In the men’s restroom, the library spent $50.00 to repair a hole in the drywall, $51.45 to replace a broken soap dispenser, and $40.00 to repair a broken lock on the restroom door.  Upstairs and downstairs carpet was cleaned for $775.00.  MOTION:  Fehrmann, second McGilvrey to have B&B Trimming trim all trees on the grounds.

Librarian’s Report (Statistics):  MOTION:  McGilvrey, second Farris to approve report.  Motion carried.

Friends of the Library:  Christmas at the Library will be December 5.

Unfinished Business: The Rotary still plans to paint and provide chairs for the Gibson Room, and provide seating in the area between the Gibson Room and the bottom of the north stairs.
*Custodian Ray Korte will retire at the end of 2013, and librarian Marge Vullo will retire June 27, 2014.

New Business:  The library is in the trial period of “eRead Illinois,” a statewide ebook project (see attached document). The 3M Cloud Library gives patrons access to more ebooks on their mobile devices, desktops and laptops.  The library must sign up by December 31.
*Pennington will apply by Friday, November 22, for a $1,000 grant for children’s books through Back2Books.
Librarian’s Announcements:  The library will close at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27 and be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
