The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by President Sharon Farris. In attendance were Trustees Greg McHenry, Mary Taylor, Roxanne Michels, Mary Ann Tucker, Amy McGilvrey, Susan Punzelt, Aaron Rhoads, Ryan Fehrmann and Librarian Teresa Pennington.
Minutes of Previous Meeting: MOTION: Michels, second Tucker to approve minutes. Motion carried.
Finance Report: MOTION: Fehrmann, second McHenry to approve corrected report. Motion carried. Correction reflects purchase of exterior front doors, listed under Building: Repair and Maintenance: YTD $7020.27 (not $1276.18).
*The library received a bequest from Carole Berl for $5,000 for large print fiction, and a bequest from Carmen Sanders for $20,850 (no purpose specified).
Book Committee: The library purchased 22 fiction and four non-fiction titles in November.
House Committee: No work performed on men’s restroom or electrical outlets yet.
Librarian’s Report (Statistics): MOTION: McHenry, second McGilvrey to approve report. Motion carried.
Friends of the Library: The Friends will meet Monday, January 16.
Old Business: Pennington reported that since purchasing Overdrive Advantage v2.0, the library has purchased 12 ebooks, half of which have been checked out.
*A change in the Open Meetings Act effective January 1 means that all board members must complete the training. Board members committed to completing the online training by the end of the library’s fiscal year.
*The librarians are in the process of inventorying all materials.
*The library will be closed to the public for staff work day January 16.
