The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by Vice President Ryan Fehrmann. In attendance were Mary Taylor, George Griffin, Aaron Rhoads, Sharon Farris, Susan Punzelt, Roxanne Michels and Librarian Teresa Pennington. Absent were Trustees Greg McHenry and Amy McGilvrey.
Minutes of Previous Meeting: MOTION: Griffin, second Punzelt to approve as read. Motion carried.
Finance Report: MOTION: Michels, second Griffin to approve report, to recognize November 2013 checks and deposits, and to authorize the purchase of 18 adult fiction, two adult nonfiction, 21 children’s fiction, and six young adult titles from Baker & Taylor. Motion carried.
*Pennington reported that the library is using Unique Management System, a collection agency module available in SHARE, to retrieve overdue materials and fines, and that materials are being returned.
Book Committee: No report.
House Committee: No report.
Librarian’s Report (Statistics): MOTION: Michels, second Punzelt to approve report. Motion carried.
Friends of the Library: Pennington reported that Christmas at the Library guests bought $90 worth of CD’s.
Unfinished Business: MOTION: Rhoads, second Griffin to use part of the Alice Feutz memorials to sign up for eRead Illinois.
MOTION: Michels, second Taylor for the library to continue using UMS to collect overdue materials.
New Business: None.
Librarian’s Announcements: Pennington applied for a $1,000 grant for children’s books through Back2Books, and for a $350 WalMart grant for job hunting/preparation books.
*Pennington worked with Brian Umberger of Illiana Technology to redesign the website.
* Edgar County Low Vision group is meeting once again.
*PACE will hold Affordable Care Act meetings Monday December 9 from 1-7 p.m., and Sarah Bush Lincoln will hold a second meeting on December 12 at 4 p.m.
*The library will be closed December 24 and 25 for Christmas, open 10-4 New Year’s Eve, and closed New Year’s Day.
