Paris Public Library and the Paris Park Board are pleased to announce the return of Shakespeare in the Park. Stone Soup Shakespeare will perform "The Tempest" at Twin Lakes Park, May 18. The 6pm outdoor performance is free.

Using an underscore of sea chanteys, Stone Soup Shakespeare will portray a motley crew of shipwrecked characters lost on an island.

The audience is encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to be collected for the local Compassionate Food Ministry.

Bring your lawn chairs and join the fun. Following the performance, Friends of Paris Library invite the audience to an after-party in Spicer Pavillion to meet the actors and enjoy some refreshments.

An actor's workshop for sixth graders through adults will be at 2pm that afternoon at Paris Public Library. Stone Soup actors will show you how to have fun with Shakespeare.

Summer Reading Club Tuesdays, June 11--July 9

Summer Reading Club is a fun way to encourage reading and spark new interests. Each week features games, arts & crafts, or special guests.
Grades 3-4-5-6 (entering in fall) 10:30--Noon
Grades 1--2 (entering in fall) 2:00--3:30

Storyhour Thursdays in June

Four sessions of listening to stories, simple crafts, and other fun. Ages 3, 4, and 5 10:30--11:15. Limit of 25 children.


Plus Silly Safaris August 6, 10:30am. Special event for all ages at YMCA's Hangar, featuring animals from around the world. No registration required for this event.

The library will need a limited number of student volunteers (7th grade and older) to assist with the summer reading club on Tuesdays June 11 - July 9 and storyhour on Thursdays June 6-27. If interested, complete an application and return it to the library by May 20 in order to be considered.
