The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by Vice President Greg McHenry.  In attendance were Mary Taylor, Susan Punzelt, George Griffin, Roxanne Michels, Librarian Teresa Pennington, and later President Sharon Farris.  Absent were Trustees Amy McGilvrey, Ryan Fehrmann, and Aaron Rhoads.

Minutes of Previous Meeting:  MOTION:  Griffin, second Michels to approve minutes.  Motion carried.

Finance Report:  MOTION:  Michels, second Punzelt to approve report.  Motion carried.
MOTION:  Michels, second Griffin to approve January’s checks and invoices for payment.  Motion carried.

Book Committee:  MOTION:  Michels, second Taylor to approve the purchase of 13 adult and 11 juvenile nonfiction titles through the Lucy Bishop fund.  Motion carried.

House Committee:  The front interior doors were installed.  The library will pay Country Creations of Marshall $1975.00 from the Pauline McClain bequest.

Librarian’s Report (Statistics):  MOTION:  Punzelt, second Taylor to approve report.  Motion carried.

Friends of the Library:  Pennington reported that the Friends will meet tonight.

Unfinished Business:  The library’s request for grant money from WalMart was denied.

New Business:  MOTION:  Griffin, second Punzelt to accept new fax/copier service policy. Motion carried.
*Pennington will submit an application by March 15 to the Illinois State Library for grant money through a program called Back to Books.
*Pennington updated board members on the SHARE (the new Illinois Heartland Library System catalog) migration schedule for member libraries that will take place in March and April. *MOTION:  McHenry, second Punzelt to replace the front desk PC with a laptop that will be compatible with the new SHARE automation system, to be purchased from Parkway Computers.  Motion carried.
*Our library has received new plastic library cards.

Librarian’s Announcements:
*The America’s Music program will be held February 19 at St. Mary’s Parish Hall from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
*The annual book sale will be held March 1 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. for FOTL members only, March 2 from 10:00-4:00 p.m. and March 3 from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
*The Big Read events:  Tom Sawyer book discussion will be held Saturday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the library; Captain Kaleb Watson Remembers program will be held Tuesday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the library.
