Local students featured in children’s art exhibit

Four Paris students are featured in the Cultivating Creativity Children’s Art Exhibit now in the Gibson Room of Paris Public Library through May 18.

The exhibit displays the most outstanding art produced during the 2017-2018 school year by school art programs throughout East Central Illinois. Cultivating Creativity, created by EIU’s Tarble Arts Center and underwritten by Consolidated Communications, aims to raise awareness of the importance of the arts in school curriculum.

Each year at least one student’s art from every contributing school in the spring Tarble Arts Children’s Art Exhibition is selected for inclusion in the traveling exhibit. This year the exhibit travels to 12 communities and includes 44 student works.

Representing Paris are Natalie Burger (Wenz), Kimber Calvert (Crestwood), Emily Melton (St. Mary’s), and Joseph Prouse (Memorial), Stop by the library during regular library hours to see their creations!
