The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by President George Griffin. In attendance were Mary Taylor, Karen Earlywine, Ginny English, Evie Gill, Greg McHenry, Sharon Farris and Librarian Teresa Pennington. Absent were Trustees Susan Punzelt and Roxanne Michels.
Minutes of Previous Meeting: MOTION: Gill, second Earlywine to approve February 8 minutes. Motion carried.
Correspondence, communications and public comments: Librarians Pennington and Sims received a thank you note from Crestwood teachers thanking them for reading to the Pre-K through 1st graders.
Finance Report: MOTION: McHenry, second English to approve the February report, to recognize February checks and deposits, and to authorize the purchase of 22 adult fiction, eight adult non-fiction, 18 children’s fiction, five children’s non-fiction and two young adult titles from Baker & Taylor. Motion carried.
Book Committee: No report.
House Committee: No report.
Librarian’s Report (Statistics): MOTION: McHenry, second Farris to approve the February report. Motion carried. Members read the February Review. Shakespeare Saved My Life author Dr. Laura Bates will speak at our library at 6:00 p.m. on March 31.
*Friends of the Library book sale continues this week through Friday.
Old Business: Pennington sent Paris High School yearbooks for years 1910 through 1926 to OCI to be microfilmed. Our library and Edgar County Genealogical Society will each get a copy on DVD.
New Business: Budget committee members have had their first meeting and have received next year’s budget template from the city.
*President Griffin and Secretary Taylor volunteered to continue in their offices. A nominating committee will be formed next month if needed to fill the Vice President position.
