The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by Vice President Ryan Fehrmann. In attendance were Mary Taylor, Sharon Farris, George Griffin, Susan Punzelt, and Librarian Teresa Pennington. Absent were Trustees Hannig, McHenry, Rhoads and Michels.
Minutes of Previous Meeting: MOTION: Griffin, second Punzelt to approve November 10 minutes as read. Motion carried.
Finance Report: MOTION: Punzelt, second Farris to approve November report, to recognize November checks and deposits and invoices for payment, and to authorize the purchase of 13 adult fiction and 11 adult non-fiction titles from Baker & Taylor. Motion carried.
*The library has received $3790 in memory of Jeanne Thiel.
*Pennington shared a letter from IMET concerning its efforts to recover money from fraudulent investments. The library’s Lucy Bishop Memorial Fund is in an IMET Convenience Fund account.
Book Committee: No report.
House Committee: No report.
Librarian’s Report (Statistics): MOTION: Farris, second Punzelt to approve the November report. Motion carried.
Friends of the Library: Hosted a very successful Christmas at the Library will be December 4.
New Business: The Paris Fire Department recommended the library purchase a Knox Box so they can access keys in case of an emergency. MOTION: Griffin, second Taylor to purchase a black surface mount Knox Box for $245 plus installation. Motion carried.
*Pennington will contact Jim Lewis to see if he can solve the library’s problem with its wireless internet.
Librarian’s Announcements: Jeanette Levellie will host a book signing Saturday, December 13 from 11 a.m. to noon.
*The library will be closed December 24 and 25 for Christmas, and December 26 for Polaris upgrade. It will be open 10-4 on New Year’s Eve, and closed New Year’s Day.
