The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by President George Griffin. In attendance were Mary Taylor, Greg McHenry, Roxanne Michels, Sharon Farris, new Trustee Karen Earlywine and Librarian Teresa Pennington. Absent was Trustee Susan Punzelt. Trustee Aaron Rhoads resigned because he moved outside the library service area; thus the library is seeking two new trustees to replace Fehrmann and Rhoads.
Minutes of Previous Meeting: MOTION: McHenry, second Farris to approve June 8 minutes. Motion carried.
Finance Report: MOTION: Michels, second McHenry to approve June report, to recognize June checks and deposits, and to authorize the purchase of 22 adult fiction, four adult non-fiction, 12 children’s fiction, four children’s non-fiction and four young adult titles from Baker & Taylor. Motion carried.
Book Committee: No report.
House Committee: Doug Johnson painted the wall outside the Gibson Room with leftover red paint from the interior of the Gibson Room.
Friends of the Library: no report.
Librarian’s Report (Statistics): MOTION: Farris, second McHenry to approve the June report. Motion carried. Members read the June Review.
Old Business: Pennington signed the Illinois Century Network (ICN) service order. The monthly cost has gone up because the library is now paying the bandwidth fee that the city used to pay. The library now pays about $250/month.
New Business: MOTION: Michels, second Farris to accept the Annual Report (see attached). Motion carried.
*Members reviewed the EDGE assessment report (see attached). This assessment, submitted earlier this year by Pennington, gives a picture of our library’s level of technology compared to EDGE benchmarks.
Meeting adjourned 5:20 p.m. Next meeting is Monday, September 14, 2015.
