Board of Trustees
June 13, 2016
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by President George Griffin. In attendance were Mary Taylor, Evie Gill, Roxanne Michels, Susan Punzelt, Ginny English, Karen Earlywine and Librarian Teresa Pennington. Absent were Trustees Greg McHenry and Sharon Farris.
Minutes of Previous Meeting: MOTION: Michels, second Gill to approve May 9 minutes. Motion carried.
Correspondence, communications and public comments: None.
Finance Report: MOTION: English, second Earlywine to approve the May report, to recognize May checks and deposits and invoices for payment, and to authorize the purchase of 29 adult fiction, seven adult non-fiction, 19 children’s fiction, and nine children’s non-fiction from Baker & Taylor. Motion carried.
Book Committee: No report.
House Committee: Pennington reported that the total cost to repair the roof damaged in the April hailstorm ($485 to patch plus $2464 to permanently repair it) was under the insurance deductible, but being hail damage may waive deductible.
Librarian’s Report (Statistics): MOTION: Michels, second Gill to approve the May report. Motion carried. Members read the May Review.
Friends: Will host reenactor Mary Todd Lincoln on September 28 in the Edgar County Bank Community Room.
Old Business: MOTION: Punzelt, second Gill to approve the proposed updated Library Conduct policy. Motion carried.
New Business: MOTION: Michels, second Earlywine to have our library continue to participate in the non-resident library card program, and to keep the current rate at $32/year/household.
*New employee Allison Blystone will replace Laci Throneburg as Student Aide. Laci will be leaving at the end of this month.
*MOTION: English, second Punzelt to approve the Annual Report. Motion carried.
